I think it's incredible how love can transcend time and space, with signals bouncing off satellites and beaming under the ocean, letters carried into the air across the sea. Astering is a moment of wonder, admiring love and connection and the cosmos itself.

In a sense, Strange Light is the earthbound side of that--quite literally the B-side, in fact. It's an intimate, queer escape; it's two young lovers who hopped the fence; it's a private thrill, in the middle of the woods. It's also the sort of song that I wish I'd heard when I was young, about a tender new love shared by two boys.
